About subscriptions

The minimum monthly subscription is RM50 and is credited to the member’s subscription capital account. Regular contributions support the cooperative’s thrift and credit activities.

Any dividend on share or subscription capital depends on the cooperative’s financial results and applicable approval requirements. A contribution does not guarantee a dividend.

About share capital

Members are required to hold at least RM100 in share capital. Each member has one vote at the Annual General Meeting, regardless of the shares held. Shares have a fixed par value and are not traded on a market.

A minimum RM1,000 share-capital balance is required for the relevant loan facilities, together with each facility’s other eligibility conditions.

Loan amounts, rates, eligibility, security and repayment terms depend on the facility and your application. Please contact KGMB’s Credit Division for clarification before applying.

Who can apply for membership?

Membership applications are open to Malaysian citizens aged 18 and above, subject to the cooperative’s membership requirements. Members can also ask about savings arrangements for their children or grandchildren.

How do I send my membership application?

Find the membership application in Forms & Downloads. Use the form assistant or download the blank PDF, then print and sign both pages. Follow the form’s supporting-document instructions and send your signed PDF through New Membership Submission on Contact Us, or visit a branch. Membership is subject to management approval.

What are the joining contributions?

The joining contributions total RM200: RM50 registration, RM100 minimum share capital and RM50 monthly subscription. The membership team will provide payment instructions for an approved application.

How can I pay my regular contributions?

Members can ask Accounts & Finance about counter payments, bank transfers and available deduction or auto-debit arrangements. Keep your payment receipt and follow the department’s instructions so the payment can be credited to the correct account.

Can I arrange savings for a child?

KGMB members can arrange the Child Savings Scheme for their children or grandchildren, with 4% annual interest and a minimum monthly contribution of RM50. Check Forms & Downloads for the relevant form, and confirm beneficiary requirements and scheme terms with the membership team. The membership form assistant is for adult applications.

How do I request a withdrawal or end my membership?

For a subscription or share-capital withdrawal, or to end your membership, ask the membership team about the written request, applicable notice period, outstanding obligations and supporting documents.

Membership withdrawal requires 12 months’ notice. Refunds are subject to the member being free from outstanding liabilities as a borrower or guarantor, and to the cooperative’s by-laws and applicable withdrawal rules. Contact the membership team for the requirements that apply to your request.
