Cash Deposit Scheme — full scheme information

Cash Deposit Scheme allows eligible members to place funds for a selected term. Interest is calculated at the published annual flat rate on the original principal. Interest may be received monthly, quarterly, half yearly, yearly or at maturity; principal is repaid at maturity when withdrawal is requested.

Investment placements start at 36 months. Agreements of 36 months or less remain locked for their full term. For 48, 60, 72 or 84-month agreements, withdrawal notice can be submitted only after completing 36 months. At least six months’ notice is required before withdrawal payment, subject to the agreement’s conditions, applicable adjustments and KGMB review. Scheduled interest and principal payments continue as agreed.

The scheme’s placement range is RM10,000 to RM200,000, subject to the member’s paid-up funds and applicable eligibility rules.

The schemes are for active KGMB members with at least RM1,000 in share capital and the applicable RM100 monthly share/subscription contribution. Contact the Investment Department to confirm eligibility and the placement limit that applies to you.

Scheme features

Eligible members may apply for a collateral loan of up to 90% of the deposit value, subject to the loan facility’s terms and approval.

Loan amounts, rates, eligibility, security and repayment terms depend on the facility and your application. Please contact KGMB’s Credit Division for clarification before applying.

At maturity, your Cash Deposit Scheme placement renews at the prevailing rate unless you request withdrawal. Contact the Investment Department for withdrawal instructions.

Borrowings from Members — full scheme information

In Borrowings from Members, the member lends funds to KGMB to support its activities. Flat interest is calculated on the original amount. For regular payment schedules, principal and interest are repaid together in equal instalments, with a rounding adjustment in the final payment. If maturity payment is selected, the principal and interest are repaid together at the end.

Savings for different stages of life.

Child Savings Scheme

Build a child’s savings with 4% annual interest. Minimum monthly contribution: RM50.

Savings benefits are subject to the applicable scheme terms.

Members who are parents or grandparents can contribute to a child’s savings, with 4% annual interest. The monthly minimum is RM50. Applications are handled at KGMB branches.

How do I submit an investment application?

Download the Cash Deposit Scheme or Borrowings from Members form from Forms & Downloads. Complete the fillable PDF, save it, then print and sign. Confirm the required supporting documents with the Investment Department. On Contact Us, select that you are an existing member, complete the consent and identity fields, and choose Investment Department to send your signed PDF.

What happens if I withdraw before maturity?

For withdrawal before the agreed maturity date, interest is recalculated at a reduced rate based on an individual assessment. Any overpaid interest is deducted from principal. A penalty of 10% of the total interest already paid also applies. These conditions apply to both Cash Deposit Scheme and Borrowings from Members.
